Diet Weight Loss

You can loose weight the easy way, and save money too. We waste so much money on weight loss products. Weight loss products are a multi billion dollar industry. There’s always a new product on the market that promises us the miracle. We want it so bad that our mind tricks us into believing that it will work. Maybe it will work for a little while. But as soon as you stop, the weight will come right back. Stop spending money on quick fixes and make a lasting lifestyle change.

Ladies, you already know the answer. Do what your mother always taught you. Just eat right. Follow these 10 easy steps: no need to count calories, measure foods or count carbs.

If you can’t pronounce it, don’t eat it. You don’t have to deprive yourself. Life is about moderation! Eat the right way 6 days a week, or even 5. Eat anything you want on the alternate day(s).  Try to stick with fresh, not canned or frozen. You can prepare the food on your day off for the entire week.

2. Bake don’t Fry!

Stir fry is ok. Just watch your oil. Spend the extra money you saved by not buying a diet program on an extra virgin olive oil. When you bake it, add extra flavor by loading up on the spices. Use the   crock pot too. Love seafood? Invest in a steamer, shellfish is absolutely delicious when steamed!

3. Take the skin off your meat before you cook it.

The skin on chicken and turkey is fattening and unhealthy. You will save a lot of calories by removing the skin before you cook. Even when you fry it, take the skin off, it still taste good.

4. Eat Lean red meat only

Red meat is a great source of protein. Just remember, MODERATION is the key. Make it lean and just a few ounces.

5. Control your portions

Eat 6 small meals a day. Eat your heaviest meals at breakfast and lunch. Have 3-4 meals and 2 snacks. Make the snacks healthy ones like yogurt, nuts or peanut butter. Craving something sinful? Choose the 100 calorie pack. Foods packed with fiber will fill you up and keep you fuller longer. Try eating off of a saucer instead of a dinner sized plate. Remember, you will eat 6 times in a day.

6. Fill half your plate with fruits and vegies at every meal

Leave less room for carbs on your plate. You can still eat rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes etc. Most of us fill half our plate with whatever our carb choice is for the meal. Enjoy the white rice instead of the yuki brown rice, just eat less. Your meat intake should only be 1-3 ozs, about the size of your fist. If you are not a big fruit and vegetable lover, try the Nutribullet. It is truly a gift sent from heaven, you can’t even taste the vegetables.

7. Drink lots of water

Water will fill you up. Drink water with/before each meal and snack. Not only will you eat less, your skin will glow!

8. No sugary Drinks

Limit yourself to 1 or 2 fruit drinks a day. Real fruit drinks like orange juice, not from concentrate. Skip the soda, instead try sparkling water.

9. Limit the salt

Salt makes you retain water. Salt is bad for your kidneys. Salt makes you crave more salt, just like sugar makes you crave more sugar. Costco makes a no-salt seasoning spice that is delicious , especially on steamed vegetables. You won’t miss the salt at all. The average person should have no more than 23oomg per day. If you have high blood pressure than you should eat no more than 1500mg a day. This is just general info, check with your doctor.

10. Get more exercise

Baby steps are ok, no need to run out and join the gym. Take a walk on your lunch break or after dinner. Park you car further away from the store entrance, stop fighting over the closest space. Invest in a new exercise DVD, just be sure it is simple enough for you to do if you are not use to exercising. Walk up and down the steps in your house a few times. Remember to check with your doctor before you begin an exercise program.
